“No Man’s Sky” is a highly ambitious game that has a lot of people up and excited but it looks like gamers will have to wait a little bit more as far as its release date is concerned.
A report from Kotaku bares that at least two sources claim that the open-space exploration game has been delayed and that there is no official word on how long. Unofficially, the site also suggests that the release date has been bumped to either July or August.
This should be a big disappointment for fans who have been eager to see what “No Man’s Sky” has to offer. The space exploration game was revealed in 2013 and included extensive coverage that included the “Steve Colbert Show” and “The New Yorker."
The game was originally set for a June, 2016 release and one of the sources (someone reportedly from GameStop) claims that marketing materials were already received and supposedly set to for launch on June 21.
This was before stores were informed that the release date was no longer correct and that they should cover it up and label it as “Coming Soon” instead.
Sony has yet to issue an official statement on the delay and the recent development and there is no telling how it may affect the expectations and hype for the ambitious game.
Gameplay previews have shown a ground-breaking algorithm that offers roughly 18 quintillion planets for players to explore. Players can basically fly and land their ship on the surface of any planet, exit the ship and explore terrains.
In store for the players are planets come filled with creatures and landscapes which will entice exploration outwards to the unknown. Once players eventually leave the planet, more adventures await on other neighboring ones as gamers move forward without any loading screen that traditional games have to offer.
