"The Elder Scroll 6" release date is one of the most asked questions among gamers these days. "The Elder Scroll 6" is a highly anticipated upgrade because the current game "Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim," released in 2011, is quite old by gaming standards.
Fans of the popular Bethesda game were crushed when word circulated last month that the expected "The Elder Scroll 6" release date this year may not happen. Elder Scroll fans were expecting that the sixth installment of the game would be released at next month's Los Angeles Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016 (E3).
Does "The Elder Scrolls 6" Even Exist?
Officially, it doesn't yet. But if one asks gaming insiders, it's a given that it does. And here are the reasons why gamers never doubted its existence.
First, creating games is all about the money. And the "The Elder Scrolls" franchise made tons of it for Bethesda. For instance, the recent version "The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim" is so most successful that it is the company's top seller, having sold over 20 million copies since its release in 2011. For Digital Spy, the franchise is just too successful not to have a sixth installment; Bethesda's bottom line demands that it should.
Another reason is that a Bethesda representative already hinted on a "The Elder Scrolls 6" release date in the past. This is the major reason why Elder Scrolls fans were expecting for "The Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia" release date announcement in this year's E3 event. Master Herald reports that a Bethesda official announced at last year's E3 event (E3 2015) that, as far as the company is concerned, E3 2016 will be for "The Elder Scrolls 6" release.
"The Elder Scrolls Online" DLC
What could have happened since then? A lot of speculations abound but the most plausible explanation is that Bethesda will offer something else in the upcoming E3 2016 event.
Last year, Bethesda introduced the game's multiplayer online version "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited." Bethesda will unveil a DLC for the online game called "The Dark Brotherhood" for Mac and PC this coming May 31.
Some speculate that in this year's E3, the DLC for Xbox One and PS4 version could released. Apparently, debuting two games during a single event is a bad move, they will steal the limelight from each other.
"The Elder Scrolls 6" Release Date Speculation
But if rumors are correct, fans need only wait for another year for the release of the game's sixth installment. Latest speculations point out that "The Elder Scrolls 6" would likely be released next year and could have the same settlement setting as the "Fallout 4" DLC last month.
It must be pointed out that Bethesda is silent on the issue. The best bet would be to wait what the studio has to say in the coming E3 event next month.
Bethesda Did Not Release An Official "The Elder Scrolls 6" Trailer
The upcoming game is rumored to be set in Argonia, one of the nine provinces of Tamriel. This led some to speculate that the next game would be named "The Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia."
However, fans excited for "The Elder Scrolls 6: Argonia" trailer will be sorely disappointed for now. A quick search will yield quite a number of results but don't bother clicking on them if you don't want to ruin your day. These are just fan-made videos pretending to be the game's trailer.
