Square Enix Ltd., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX interactive entertainment products in Europe and other PAL territories, today announced the grand prize for the HITMAN: SNIPER CHALLENGE competition in the UK. The person crowned The UK's Ultimate Assassin will be immortalized in a future Hitman game and also presented with a Golden Joystick at Future Publishing's annual Golden Joystick Awards on October 26, 2012.
With Agent 47s around the globe having racked up over 35 million kills playing HITMAN: SNIPER CHALLENGE, the competition to find the top UK sniper is now live with gamers competing for daily, weekly and monthly prizes. All Monthly winners will have the chance to battle it out in a Grand Final and be crowned the UK's Ultimate Assassin.
HITMAN: SNIPER CHALLENGE has been created as a bespoke standalone experience to reward fans who pre-order Hitman: Aboslution. Online leader boards allow players to compare their sniping abilities with players around the world, supported by various challenges to determine who has the best sniping skills. Skilled players will capitalize on score multipliers, discover secret extras, unlock equipment upgrades and marvel at the many creative ways one can discreetly dispose of a body while they work to fulfil their contract in the most efficient way possible. A host of upgrades can be unlocked and carried over into Hitman: Aboslution.

Now in its 30th year, the Golden Joystick Awards are the only gaming awards that are voted by the people that matter most, the gamers themselves. With over two million votes cast last year, the shortlist will once again be the focus of gamers' conversations throughout the summer.

HITMAN: SNIPER CHALLENGE pre-order promotion is available now through access to Xbox LIVE® or PlayStation Network for customers who pre-order Hitman: Aboslution. PC owners will be able to download HITMAN: SNIPER CHALLENGE through Steam from 1st August 2012. Hitman: Aboslution is scheduled for global release on November 20, 2012 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC. Developed by IO Interactive A/S, a Square Enix studio, Hitman: Aboslution is not yet rated.
