Square Enix has come out as the first major publisher to support the Ouya console, recently announcing it would release Final Fantasy 3 on the console. Final Fantasy 3 will be fully optimized for OUYA and it will have a free downloadable demo.
Final Fantasy 3 was a hallmark of innovation for the entire series, from the job system that lets characters change classes at any time to the ability to summon powerful creatures such as Shiva and Bahamut.
"We're promising to deliver Final Fantasy 3 like you've never seen it before," read a post on the Ouya Kickstarter page. "Hironobu Sakaguchi's third installment in the role playing game franchise will be updated to exploit Ouya's high-definition resolution in glorious graphic detail."
So a classic game of a historic franchise, with an HD upgrade? Nice...
Other Ouya developers will also have access to the system's open design so they can produce their games for the living room, taking advantage of everything the TV has to offer. Earlier this month, gaming service Onlive also signed with the Android based startup to run its on-demand games service when it launches. So if you have difficulty with any games, just watch other players to see what they're doing.
Final Fantasy 3's release should happen simultaneously with the launch of OUYA in March 2013. Square Enix also stated that they will be providing more content for the console in the future.
