Hideo Kojima wants to implement the unthinkable in his new game. It has been speculated that as he begins his new game, he will incorporate and use a third party engine for the new game.
IGN formerly reported that Hideo Kojima has affirmed that his first post-Konami game will indeed utilize a third-party engine. Along that line, his well-documented trips are designed as the means to prepare and gain insight for the modification of his Konami game.
In addition, during the Nordic Game 2016 festival, Kojima relayed that to ensure a suitable release for the new Kojima Productions' debut, he must implement unthinkable measures and to assure the timeframe.
"I actually think it's better to make games using internal tools," Kojima said. "As for my first title, because I want to release it to the people who are waiting for it, for that title we are going to use a third-party engine - the reason I am travelling around the world is looking for such technology to use."
"At the beginning I was thinking to make a small title, [but] after I met friends and acquaintances worldwide they said, 'no everyone's expecting you to make a big title'. So the first title coming from me will be a big title," adds Kojima.
Kotaku also reported of Kojima's journey as he meets various developers to assess which development tech and tools are ideal and suited for him. Nevertheless, even though Kojima would implement an unthinkable option, it is not an assurance that the Kojima will indeed integrate third party software.
The whims of Hideo Kojima may alter the directives of the game and it might depict that he is indeed implementing the unthinkable but to use a third party engine might be worth a try.
