Apple created the iPhone SE to continue the legacy of the iPhone 5c and offer the market something affordable. But it looks like the latest Apple device has silently come with a good battery, allegedly better than the iPhone6s.
The iPhone SE is the latest handset that Apple though it is not considered among the flaghships that the Cupertino company has been known to offer. Rather, it was seen more as an offshoot of the iPhone 5c to provide buyers an affordable Apple phone.
Bringing together features from two previous models
Going through the specs, the iPhone SE does carry specs far from the iconic duo of the iPhone 6s or the 6s Plus. It comes with a smaller 4-inch LCD display and the same A9 chip (with integrated M9 motion co-processor), evidence that somehow backs up the observation of many that the iPhone SE brings together key features that the iPhone 5s and iPhone 6s have.
Speaking of the 4-inch LCD display, could this be the reason why many are taking note of the longer battery life of the iPhone SE? The iPhone SE can last up to 14 hours of talk time and 13 hours of Internet use per Mac Rumors, to facts that many may have overlooked.
iPhone SE battery better but due to size of display screen
To support that, Anandtech conducted on the battery life comparison on the iPhone 6s and iPhone SE. Based on the tests they conducted, it turned out that iPhone SE registered 9.27 hours while the iPhone 6s was only good for 7.45 hours.
Both phones underwent rigorous tests, something well-respected in the industry. But one has to wnder how things would turn out if the iPhone SE would be compared iPhone 6s Plus.
The iPhone 6s Plus carries a larger battery and it will be interesting how it actually performs on Anandtech’s tests.
Regardless and unless Anandtech and Apple consider it, that remains to be known. For now and on paper, it states that the iPhone 6s Plus can last for up to 12 hours with WiFi on, while the iPhone SE is good at 13 hours.
Somehow that claim raises some eyebrows, especially when one takes into account the screen sizes of the two devices.
