If anything, Borderlands did DLC right. It gave us "The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned," "The Secret Armory of General Knox," "Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot," and "Claptrap's New Robot Revolution," all of which gave us new missions, weapons, enemy types, expanded storylines, and more. Overall, these were great examples of DLC, and added days more gameplay. If Borderlands 2 is anything like its predecessor, then we can expect a fair amount of DLC.
Now that Gearbox has finished development of the main game, they've set to work on DLC for Borderlands 2. No episodes have been announced as of yet, but we do know that there will be a new playable character, and will be available free to anyone who preorders the game 60 to 90 days before the game's release.
So who is this mysterious new character?
Something of a cyborg, little is known about her, even her actual name. She'll be available sometime after the game's initial release, and will have the ability to take control of mechs, and will also be able to summon the D374-TP, lovingly referred to as the "Deathtrap," what Gearbox's president Randy Pitchford described as claptraps big angry cousin, calling it a, "gigantic evil robot that'll just beat the living shit out of the enemies."
Borderlands 2 is out September 18, so pre-order now if you wanna get your hands on the mechromancer and her mechanical mate.
