Nintendo 2DS system is getting a price drop, which isn't really noteworthy on its own for some game players but the price cut is quite significant considering the fact that Nintendo 2DS already had a price drop just less than a year ago.
Nintendo 2DS is down from $99.99 to $79.99. So this is a big price drop, usually the $79.99 is the sale price fans get from time to time and now they can have it at that price on May 20th, as reported by Engadget.
So before you decide if Nintendo 2DS is worth the try after the price drop, it is probably wise to get familiar with the system again. Nintendo 2DS will be bundled with Mario Kart pre-installed and it is pretty much a Nintendo 3DS but made in a way that you don't have to fold it over. The Nintendo 2DS is a bit of an awkward move from Nintendo because it looks a lot from what fans normally see when they get a new portable.
Normally it's something that's slimmer, offers new functions or just has bigger screens. This time, however, the Nintendo 2DS is technically a downgrade from Nintendo 3DS, specifically that it doesn't have the 3D function in exchange for being a more affordable option for people that don't want to spend as much.
People who purchased Nintendo 2DS notice right away that it is not a full design like all the DS systems have been but rather a flat slate with two screens. The positive outcome of this is that there are no hinges that can accidentally break which can be a major issue with young kids.
The downside of Nintendo 2DS is the fact that you can't close it, meaning the screens are always exposed. Obviously, you can easily remedy this by buying a case for it. Now the bigger problem that results from this though is how it impacts the portability of the system.
In the end, Nintendo 2DS is a fantastic alternative to the Nintendo 3DS, especially on its price point. This is not the only big news Nintendo has announced, CNET revealed that the electronics and software company has two new games, Style Savvy: Fashion Forward and Disney Magical World 2.
