Activision popped up a video of Black Ops II's creative team chatting it up with Trent Reznor about their excitement working on the "summer blockbuster" the newest Call of Duty will be.
Players will play as Alex Mercer's (Black Ops protagonist) son, David. Alex will return in Black Ops 2, as will Frank Woods. Players will be able to make choices throughout the game that will affect the story, including a variety of endings. Frank Woods goes up against Menendez, a man who's managed to nfiltrate the miltary network to take over hundreds of the U.S's own automated drones, using them to attack its major cities. Sounds a bit far fetched, but it's really not.
The majority of the game, as indicated by the trailer, appears to be set in a war-torn Los Angeles in the year 2025. The People's Republic of China has invaded Los Angeles due to a global struggle involving rare earth minerals. However, according to Black Ops 2's director David Anthony, we will take a trip back to the 80's where we'll meet a younger version of Menendez, and see how events of the past shaped him into the man he becomes.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is set for release on November 13, 2012, and will be available for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
