The next flagship smartphone from Chinese manufacturer OnePlus is expected to arrive in June, which would be few weeks from now. Speculations surrounding the device are making rounds online, making prospects eager to find out what the OnePlus 3 will offer in flesh.
In an earlier interview with CNET, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei revealed that the new smartphone is expected to launch "at the end of the second quarter." He also tipped that it will come with a "new design."
Now, a new report from MyDrivers spills several interesting details about the OnePlus 3. The leak reveals that the smartphone will sport a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, a 16MP main camera, an 8MP selfie snapper, a Snapdragon 820 chip and a 3,500 mAh battery. These would be definitive upgrades from the OnePlus 2, which came with a 13MP rear shooter, a 5MP secondary camera, a Snapdragon 810 chip and a 3,300 mAh battery.
As per TechnoBuffalo's translation, the report also mentions that the OnePlus 3 will be offered in two versions: one that packs 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and other that sports 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Both models are reportedly under $400, costing around $307 and $384, respectively.
Another interesting report about the OnePlus 3 is its charging prowess, which supposedly completes re-powering in just 15 minutes. According to GizmoChina, the feature will specifically make use of OPPO's low voltage charging technology instead of Qualcomm's Quick Charging, which will have a maximum wattage of 20W (5V 4A).
With regards to the alleged smartphone's design, renders have also made their way to the web, and among the most interesting images were reported by Mobile Dad. Apparently, the new handset could sport a brushed metal back panel. OnePlus followers would think that this can be a deviation in the lineup's playful use of different materials, but until we see the actual device, all these details must be taken with pinches of salt.
