The next handset in Samsung's Galaxy Note line is speculated to arrive this year, considering launch patterns. To date, rumors surrounding it continue to build hype, with the most recent one being its inclusion of a massive storage option.
With all these juicy Galaxy Note 6 details, prospects are curious to find out how it fares against the Galaxy S7, the Korean tech giant's S-line flagship released earlier this year. Let's take a look at how the next Note could make a difference.
Internal Storage
A massive 256GB internal storage option has been reported for the Galaxy Note 6, Phone Arena cites. If this is not exciting yet, it has also been said that the device will pack 6GB of RAM, though such amount is pegged to be standard by next year. The Galaxy S7 starts from a 32GB internal, with microSD option of up to 200GB in both single- and dual-SIM models. The latest device houses 4GB of RAM.
Battery
The Galaxy Note 6 is touted to sport a 4,200mAh battery. This is a clear upgrade from the Galaxy S7's 3,000mAh powerhouse, and is expected to let users enjoy at least 48 hours of life between charging times.
USB
Another interesting spec assumed in the Galaxy Note 6 is USB Type-C support. SamMobile says USB 3.1 will be logical, owning the ability of faster charging and carrying HDMI or Display Port video signals. The Galaxy S7 comes with microUSB v2.0, USB Host.
Camera
Samsung is reportedly working on a new camera sensor that beats that of the Galaxy S7 in terms of aperture. This sensor is pegged to result to a resolution that captures 24MP, AndroidPIT notes. The Galaxy S7, with an aperture of f/1.7, shoots at 12MP (rear).
Dust- and Water-Resistance
If reports hold truth, the Galaxy Note 6 will be the first in its line to hold an IP68 certification. This means the device is dust-proof and water-resistant at a depth of 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. This is the same certification found in the Galaxy S7, so it looks like a tie in this area.
