EA and DICE to launch 'Battlefield 5' on Friday
No one knows when "Battlefield 5" is really coming, not until German gaming website Play3.de revealed a snippet about the game's official release date. "The future of Battlefield is coming up and you are invited to the world premiere," the website said. "On May 6, we will reveal the next milestone in the Battlefield franchise. Come and meet our creative team at DICE."
It added that "Battlefield 5" will be revealed at 8 P.M. CET with a simultaneous livestream broadcast at 10 P.M. The latest financial report of EA divulged that the game will be launched along with "Titanfall 2" and "Mass Effect Andromeda" in 2017 fiscal year, which covers April 2016 to March 2017.
While there is no exact date as to when "Battlefield 5" will be released, game developer DICE has said that the game will come back to its military roots. This is EA and DICE idea of change from the poor cops vs. robbers spin-off: Battlefield Hardline reception last year.
'Battlefield 5' will be set in World War 1
Reports have it that the "Battlefield 5" game will be set in the World War 1 era. News about the game happening during the war first sparked when a German website described the game in its retail listing as "Mehrspieler Taktik Shooter im 1. Weltkrieg," which means " Multiplayer tactical shooter in Word War 1."
Though these reports appears to be true, both EA and DICE did not confirm anything until now. Fans could expect more details coming out soon as the official reveal approaches.
