It is a sad day for PC based gamers who have been waiting for the upcoming release of Assassin's Creed 3.
Ubisoft Creative Lead Alex Hutchinson, announced the delay of the game at Comic Con 2012 held in San Diego. PC gamers have to now wait longer as the title was expected to hit stores by October 30. Ubisoft did not explain the reasons for the delay but announced that the new launch will be before Christmas.
Ubisoft has often been found guilty of delaying PC version titles. Speculated reasons for the release holdoff could be to encourage gamers in purchasing the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version.
Despite the delay, hopeful news emerged from Comic Con 2012 as fans had their first hands-on experience for the game's multiplayer.
The new Assassin's Creed 3 game's multiplayer called the Wolf Pack, enable players to communicate and work as a team in taking down waves of targets. The targets will be marked and chased using circular direction HUD. Player with a stylish or a stealthy kill will gain more points.
A new footage of the game's single player has also been released. The video takes place in the city of Boston with game protagonist Connor showing off some new moves such as taking cover, hiding, aspects of social stealth. Connor navigates beautifully around the city's environments, forests, and crowds of non-playable characters.
In addition to pleasing fans with the demo and new trailer, a new digital comic book "Assassin's Creed: The Fall" elaborated on the Assassin's Creed universe. The comic book is currently available for download on iPad tablets. This will help boost the markeitng for the Assassin's Creed, as well as easing the pain for PC gamers due to the delayed release. Set during the American Revolution, the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed 3 title is stated to be released on October 30.
