Friday the 13th isn't all THAT bad, because this year, it means that "The Dark Knight Rises" is only one week away from opening.
Director Christopher Nolan says it's the biggest movie he's ever told, calling it "the definition of epic - shooting on location across three continents, with a daring aerial stunt sequence, a massive crowd scene involving explosions and over 10,000 extras, and a full complement of new gadgets and vehicles. But for me, the massive scale is almost secondary to the emotional headwinds the characters are facing. They (characters) are larger than life and I will miss that because that is not something you can apply to an ordinary story," he added.
Demand for tickets is high. With numerous theatres sold out for both midnight showings and shows opening day, sales for tickets have been popping up on craigslist and ebay, some for as high as $100. Unless you have Bruce Wayne bucks, you're better off just to wait. Just stay away from anyone who beat you to seeing the movie, lest they ruin it for you ala David Letterman.
Batman is set to go head to head against Bane, the first villain that's a match to Batman both physically and mentally. Tom Hardy, the actor behind the behemoth Bane, said on his character, "Bane is a terrorist in both his mentality and his actions...He is physically intimidating and he's also very intelligent, which makes him even more dangerous."
Joining the new character Bane to the Nolan-verse are two possible future squeezes for Bale's Batman and Wayne:
* humble businesswoman Miranda Tate played by French actress Marion Cotillard, who some fans have speculated might actually be Talia, the daughter of former Bat baddie Ra's al Ghul.
* Anne Hathaway's as the infamous burglar Catwoman, a character Nolan initially doubted bringing into his Bat-trilogy, telling Empire, "Catwoman is a very iconic figure in the Batman pantheon. I was nervous about how she would fit into our world. But [my brother Jonathan] was very much convinced that there would be a way to do it and eventually turned me around."
