Apparently, the Xbox One version of "Ark: Survival Evolved" runs horribly. A couple of days ago, technical experts tested the game and came up with the verdict. The sad report came from Eurogamer's Digital Foundry columnists. They recorded the game in early access, and the Xbox version of the survival game is definitely lacking.
It sports a lot of unwanted lag, screen tearing and frame skipping, and it only supports 720p. What a bummer! This isn't the same for the PC and PS4 versions; the two have been given a huge budget to keep everything running. As for the Xbox, you can really see how horrible the Xbox version is. It really looks awful, and you can see it clearly with the naked eye.
"Ark: Survival Evolved" is an open-ended survival game in which the player's goal is to explore a wild habitat filled with strange flora and fauna. You hunt beasts (including dinosaurs), craft tools and build shelter, seek out food and shelter and eventually tame gargantuan creatures, mount them and keep them like household pets. To keep it short, it's like Minecraft with dinosaurs.
In its current unpolished, early access state, the game is just so messy it hurts. But still reviews have complimented it as very fun, engrossing yet an unoptimised mess. It's the kind of mess that has a great number of people. It still got more than one million downloads on Xbox One in just around a week! It's just surprising how players are willing to overlook its flaws. The game's servers are usually full!
Is Studio Wildcard prepared for its planned June 2016 release date? Or is this game going to be a flop? I hope this game gets its well-deserved optimisation soon. It's just a waste if it doesn't. Ark is already so much fun. But as we know, players are enticed by a game visually as well. A little more tweaking might make this game better, or probably even the best. Digital Foundry has pretty much explained everything in detail, including the small and fascinating differences, in a YouTube video.
