Brit developer Introversion has recently announced that Prison Architect will finally launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One this spring. Double Eleven, which previously looked after Limbo and Goat Simulator, will be in charge of porting this fantastic game to our favourite consoles.
This game was made by the same people who made Darwinia, Defcon and Uplink. It will be priced at 30$. And the console versions will add a Prison Warden mode, where you get to manage established prisons, and the World of Wardens network, which will be used to share custom maps. Players now have the ability to share and play other people's prison creations.
The crowdfunded original for PC was a success and has been receiving continuous updates since its release and development five years ago. Double Eleven came up with the idea of porting this game in PlayStation 4, and Introversion is very excited about the project. Introversion co-founder Mark Morris confirmed this in a new update on the EU PlayStation blog.
After spending a long time in Early Access, Prison Architect was finally released for PCs late last year. The developer Double Eleven is working double time on the porting process. It should be released in spring on PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The exact date wasn't confirmed yet, but we will let you know as soon as we get that information.
It is weird that PlayStation 3 is left off the console list, though. It would be strange for a video game releasing in 2016 to ignore a console that debuted more than nine years ago and appear on one that debuted more than ten years ago. It doesn't really make sense, but we'll respect their decision on that. However, PlayStation users can still get their hands on the slightly morbid video game, so long as they have PlayStation 4.
