Nintendo's interest in entering the mobile gaming industry has produced a lot of hype to casual gamers. Apparently, the game company has answered the requests of the people to bring its famous titles to smartphones and table. They are still on their way and still has a lot more to do, however they are taking the necessary steps to make it a great addition to their already successful console lineup.
Way back October Nintendo talked about its first smartphone game, which happens to be not exactly a game. It's Miitomo, an app that is said to enhance communication between Mii character users. Technically, it is considered to be some sort of chat app.
Nintendo had revealed then that Miitomo would be available to mobile devices in March, but now it is unclear wether they will really push through. The company kept saying that they are busy on their efforts promoting other games, so for now we can say that they are still pretty unsure.
However, Kimishima, Nintendo's president, announced on newspaper Mainichi Shimbun that they will push through with the launch. There will be no delays and March will be the month that we see Nintendo first releasing an official app for mobile. We are hoping it's free though.
Miitomo as we've said. Isn't a game in nature, it's interface and design is a chatting app that lets users create and customize their Miis - characters that were debuted along with the Wii via the Mii Channel. Users of the app then interact with each other through their Miis in a virtual environment.
So it has been confirmed, Nintendo is entering the mobile world. Nintendo is investing their efforts in stepping into the modern ages and entering the competition in the smartphone gaming world. Gaming companies are aware that they won't be able to survive by supporting only the big consoles, and so far Nintendo is in the right direction.
Let's wait until March, and hope the next one will be Super Mario or something of that kind.
