Fans of the popular multiplayer game Halo 5: Guardians were not pleased when the maker of the game and Microsoft decided to take out its split screen feature. To be fair, Microsoft and Xbox Box head Phil Spencer, were quick to answer their fans and admitted that taking out the feature was their hardest decision so far, with regards to the game.
In an interview with popular gaming website Gamespot, Spencer explained their side on why they had to make the decision, considering that game fans will surely be pissed off with it. He said that at the end of the day, they have to make a decision based on the bar that they wanted to achieve or hit considering how complex the game console is. He went on to say, that if the split screen will not be taken down, the possibility of the game crashing increases significantly, something which Spencer and Microsoft don't want to happen.
Spencer said that they had taken into consideration the massive number of players of the game, and as much as possible, they wanted to bring the game in every household without issues or problems that might cause disappointment or discomfort for their supporters.
He also said that, although it is very entertaining to continue with the split screen, bringing people or gamers together in one gameplay is a hard task today considering how busy people are with their daily lives, so getting two or more people to sit down at the same time is another factor why they decided to let go of the feature.
However, a game expert blatantly contradicts Spencer's claim and called it absurd. The expert went to say that hardcore gamers, regardless of how busy they are, will always find time to sit down together and play games they love to play, as a team. The expert also said that, Microsoft and Xbox should have taken into consideration that, friends who gather around to play a game, doesn't see the availability of the gamers who are playing together at the same time as an issue with the split screen.
