Xbox One Gets Exclusive Right On Two JRPG's Stranger of Sword City and Students of Round 2

Xbox One Gets Exclusive Right On Two JRPG's Stranger of Sword City and Students of Round 2

Xbox One closed a deal with two RPGs from Experience Inc., a game developer based in Japan. The games that will be exclusively released for the Xbox One are Stranger of Sword City and Students of Round 2. However, the Student of Round is currently a working title and might have a different title upon its release.

According to reports, the games are expected to be released in 2016 and 2017 for Strangers of Sword City and Students of Round 2 respectively. In addition, the games will be getting a western release, so there is no need for game fans to file a petition. The games will both get a physical device and a downloadable version through Xbox Live.

The partnership was shaped because of the difficulty of selling the games in the Japanese market and the easier path in releasing a digital game worldwide, as Experience Inc.'s CEO Hajime Chikami points out. Strangers of Sword City was previously released on the Xbox 360, PC, and the PlayStation Vita but the new game that will be released for the Xbox One will not be a simple remake of the previous game but will feature new angles and characters. Chikami took his cue from fan's feedback from the first release as well as recommendations from publishers he had worked before.

Meanwhile, Students of Round 2 is still in the pipeline and was reported to still have issues with regards to developing. The company is still working on the game's final characters before they will put it in the final product. The Students of Round 2's gameplay is somewhat linked to Shinning Force and Fire Emblem, which are both tactical RPGs.

Xbox One's exclusive rights to the Strangers of Sword City and Students of Round 2 will or might give PlayStation 4's exclusive game Tales of Zesteria a run for its money.
