The Asterisk War is being altered from a light novel into an anime series which is planned to first appear in Japan this October. In addition to that, Bandai Namco is, as of now, taking a shot at making a computer game as well and gave a sneak peak at a PlayStation Vita title.
Bandai Namco Entertainment opened an official site for a PlayStation Vita game version of the up and coming anime 'The Asterisk War: The Academy City on the Water' on Saturday. The mockup game will be probably titled 'The Asterisk War: Hōka Kenran' and is slated for 2016.
The TV anime version of creator Yuu Miyazaki and artist Okiura's light novel series will debut in October and the anime's official site declared a computer game adaptation in July, however, did not determine which framework the game would be for.
The characters which will appear in the anime are Ayato Amagari (Atsushi Tamaru), Julis-Alexia von Riessfelt (Ai Kakuma), Claudia Enfield (Nao Tōyama), Saya Sasamiya (Shiori Izawa), and Kirin Todo (Ari Ozawa).
It is also unconfirmed if the voice actors will reprise their roles in the video game.
Miyazaki sent out the novel series in 2012 and Media Factory will distribute the ninth volume on September 25. The light books have propelled a manga adaptation by Ningen that right now has two volumes in print. In addition, the 'Gakusen Toshi Asterisk Gaiden: Queenveil no Tsubasa' spinoff manga by Shou Akane presently has one volume in print.
For the television series, Manabu Ono will man and direct the entire TV series at A-1 Pictures while Kenji Seto will serve as the assistant director.
Character designs will be handled by Tetsuya Kawakami and Rasmus Faber will work on the anime's music.
On the PS Vita game, as of this time, aside from the video teaser that was published online, details are very limited.
