Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Villain Trailer

So maybe we didn't get an actual look at Raul, but it does seem like he'll have some tricks up his sleeve. As the main antagonist of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Menendez manages to infiltrate the miltary network to take over hundreds of the U.S's own automated drones, using them to attack its major cities. Sounds a bit far fetched, but it's really not.

The majority of the game, as indicated by the trailer, appears to be set in a war-torn Los Angeles in the year 2025. The People's Republic of China has invaded Los Angeles due to a global struggle involving rare earth minerals. However, according to Black Ops 2's director David Anthony, we will take a trip back to the 80's where we'll meet a younger version of Menendez, and see how events of the past shaped him into the man he becomes.

Goyer said of Menendez, "Menendez is a multidimensional human being. That was the first place we wanted to start. We wanted players to understand the emotional conflict at the core of Menendez's actions, so we have players meet Raul Menendez as Alex Mason in the late 80s.

About one third of the game will be played as Alex Mason, seeing and understanding how this monster was created, to see what the monster is capable of.

Players will play as Alex Mercer's (Black Ops protagonist) son, David. Alex will return in Black Ops 2, as will Frank Woods. Players will be able to make choices throughout the game that will affect the story, including a variety of endings.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is set for release on November 13, 2012, and will be available for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
