Steelseries, Twitch, and Alienware have teamed up to announce the 2012 Twitch & Alienware Scholarship Program. Five $10,000 scholarships with certificates will be rewarded to students who meet the requirements. Among the requirements, we kid you not, is a "High Level of Achievement in game of choice," which includes, but isn't limited to:
* High in-game rankings.
* Top tournament placements.
* Regular game streaming on Twitch.
* Regular involvement with games or gaming groups.
* Other significant involvement in gaming as judged by judging committee.

Applying students will also must also maintain a 3.0 GPA. The application deadline is August 15th, and the scholarship is only available to US residents. Scholarship winners will be announced August 31st, and are selected by Scholarship Committe members, all staff members of Alienware, Twitch, and Steelseries.
Anyone interested in applying can do so at this site. You must send in an official high school or college transcript showing GPA, proof of game accolades (links, screenshots, etc.), a written summary of why you feel you should receive the scholarship in 800 words or less, and a 1 minute or less video highlighting why you love games and your gaming achievements.
