Upon losing Zelda to the vagaries of 2016, Nintendo does not have a lot of 'killer' games. The kind that you want to buy a system for in 2015. One such title, however, is Splatoon and Nintendo is releasing a new special edition Splatoon Wii U bundle.

The "inkredible bundle includes a Wii U Deluxe console and both the Splatoon (via included download code) and Nintendo Land (pre-installed) games for a suggested retail price of only $299.99," and will be available exclusively at Best Buy. That's a decent price for two games and a full system.
Splatoon is, at essence, a giant paintball fight. Only instead of individual guns, you're using the equivalent to a fire hose or a Proton Pack to coat the opponent's base in paint while attempting to complete mission objectives. It's a bright and colorful kaleidoscope of mayhem, with characters that can transform themselves into squids (like Bloodborne!) and travel throughout the painted landscape.

You know, just like your family.
The game will also support Amiibo figures, which are sold separately from the game but hit shelves the same day. Amiibo figures will allow players access to special areas and gear that would otherwise be unavailable to regular players in the game.
"Splatoon overflows with lots of ways to play: Teams of players from around the world will enjoy the frenetic four-on-four online "Turf War" mode, which tasks players to cover the most ground with their team's ink while using the Wii U GamePad controller to see a top-down view of the map as it is covered in ink in real-time. Ranked Battle, which will be made available a short time after launch, will offer skill-based online rule sets, while in "Battle Dojo," players enjoy local one-on-one matches with friends. Splatoon also features a robust single-player campaign that cleverly teaches players how to splatter, swim, leap, hide and climb walls, all using ink to try to thwart the nefarious Octarian army."
Splatoon is out on May 29, exclusively for Wii U.
