Inateck Bluetooth 3.0 Ultra Slim Keyboard Review: A Smarter Option Than Apple's Wireless Keyboard

These days, it helps to have a keyboard that’s versatile. Sure, you can buy a USB keyboard for your computer, but what about when you’re on your tablet, or even your phone? What if you’re on the go and don’t want to lug around a giant keyboard?

These questions explain the popularity of wireless Bluetooth keyboards, which can swap between systems easily. Enter relatively unknown manufacturer Inateck. Today we're taking a look at their Bluetooth 3.0 Ultra Slim Keyboard, which is a solid keyboard that will work with nearly any OS you're likely to own, and is light and small enough that you can plop it in your bag and completely forget about it.

At first glance it’s obvious that the design is based on Apple’s Wireless Keyboard, as they have basically the same style and layout.

The size is nearly the same and the only difference really is the layout of the buttons, which are optimized to work with Windows and Android devicesright alongside iOS. We’ve had no trouble getting the keyboard to work on everything from a Windows 8.1 PC to an iPhone 6, the Bluetooth functionality allowing you to easily find and use the keyboard with whatever computer you wish.

It's incredibly simple to sync. All you do is press Crtrl+C and the bluetooth pairing will fire up, making it discoverable by any device you like.

The keyboard feels great, with a little ergonomic arc to it making it easy to rest your hands upon it. The keys have nice rounded corners and make it good for typing and perfect for speed, but not exactly ideal for gaming situiations. The bottom of the keyboard is brushed stainless steel and looks gorgeous, and it's got little rubber feet on the bottom to ensure it doesn't slide, as well as an on-off switch to save your battery life when it's not in use.

Besides its versatility it boasts another big design improvement over the Apple Wireless Keyboard- it’s rechargeable. Apple’s keryboard requires two AA batteries that, while they last quite a while, are a pain. The Inateck Ultra Slim has a built-in 200mA lithium battery that's said to work for four months without charging in standby mode, which is rechargeable via an included Micro USB cable.

It's remarkably comfortable, if small. This keyboard doesn't have a number pad or any real bells and whistles, it's all about convenience and versatility and for that it's one of the best.

At $39.99 the Inatek Bluetooth 3.0 Ultra Slim Keyboard its $30 cheaper than Apple's Wireless Keyboard, and it's regularly available for even cheaper (it's currently $26.99 on Amazon.) If you're regularly on the go and constantly switching between systems this is one of the cheapest and best options you can find.
