Konami is bringing the heavy hitters Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow sequels to the premier European gaming event, Gamescom.
In addition, Konami will also be using a dedicated virtual studio to deliver "a series of events to enhance the exhibition experience." The studio will host interviews, and broadcast news and trailers that will be available via live streams through facebook, youtube, and twitter. A detailed schedule of the shows will be announced at a later date.
The Cologne event will see KONAMI's big hitters available to experience first-hand. Visitors will be able to play as Raiden and slice n' dice through Desperado Enterprises in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Though it's created by Kojima Productions, don't expect the stealth style of past Metal Gears. PlatinumGames promises to deliver its unique brand of high-tempo action to create an entirely different game experience for the franchise. Revengeance will be available in the beginning of 2013 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
Konami will also be showing a playable version of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate, which will be available in autumn exclusively for Nintendo 3DS. Set 25 years after the events of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, it reveals the story of Simon and Trevor Belmont and their personal fight against Dracula. During the stunning action title, players take on roles of several different characters and can use a variety of strategic fight elements within the game's unique setting, which features both high-resolution 3D Polygon graphics and sidewise scrollable game layers.
"Innovation and strong brands - that is what KONAMI is all about at this year's gamescom", explained Martin Schneider, General Manager of Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH. "With new versions of Pro Evolution Soccer, Metal Gear and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, fans and gamers are introduced to our best brands. And via KONAMI onAir, we can connect directly with our community and bring KONAMI's gamescom attractions to gamers all over the world - an exciting interaction that has never been at the show before."
