ATLUS and Spike Chunsot have released a new trailer for next week's release of their epic RPG/roguelike Etrian Mystery Dungeon and we are 99% sure it is not an April Fools' joke.
Candy Crush Gets A...Meaty April Fools Prank
There's nothing inherently prankish about the video, which states very plainly and directly about the various gameplay mechanics you will encounter whilst diving into the ever changing labyrinth.
But is there some hidden joke or pun we aren't getting? Are there really 10 classes to choose from? (Yes, yes there are; including the all new Landsknecht - which is not a joke despite its silly sounding name - watch the debut trailer from January).
Supplies Are Running Out, But The 3DS Sale Is Still Going At Target
Or the D.O.E, the game's equivalent to the classic Grue from ZORK? I mean, that sounds like something you made up to pull one over on us? Oh. No, that's real, too. And it will not only mess up your entire party, but can also attack nearby times and remove them use for quite some time.
Perhaps the whole thing is one giant hoax, like the moon landing. I guess we'll find out next week on April 7 when Etrian Mystery Dungeon launches onto the Nintendo 3DS.
The Etrian Mystery Dungeon 3DS theme is now available on the Nintendo eShop for just 99 cents. In case you missed it, check it out here. Not a prank...
Watch the trailer below, and decide for yourself. See you in the dungeon next week.
