Mortal Kombat X Characters: Johnny Cage And Sonya Blade Confirmed In New Family-Centric Trailer

News that Johnny Cage would be joining the Mortal Kombat X roster of fighters was prematurely revealed in a recent interview, but now an official reveal of the character has arrived.

The news was inadvertantly let slip by a member of the development team (Warner Bros then requested that all video instances of that interview be removed from the web for copyright reasons), but have now pulled the curtain back themselves on one of the franchise's most recognizable fighters. He appears in a new Cage Family trailer alongside his ex-wife Sonya Blade and daughter Cassie Cage, who had already been revealed.

Sony and Johnny had not been officially announced before now, so the character roster has risen to 20 confirmed fighters. That interview had also mentioned that we'd soon see Kenshi, so you can likely count on that reveal as well.

The trailer comes with narration about their bloodline, some in-fight gameplay clips, and footage of the story mode featuring the characters. Cassie wields dual pistols to devestating effect, and the fatalities are gruesomely terriffic. Johnny's ending is amsuing, but I'll let you see for yourself. Mortal Kombat X will be released worldwide on April 14 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
