EA released the motherlode of all gameplay footage with a 20-minute rundown of what we can expect from Dead Space 3 in terms of single player and the drop-in/drop-out co-op mode. Highlighted with brief commentary from Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis, it seems that not even having a buddy will make things easier for Issac Clarke as he searches for Ellie, who goes missing when their ship is literally tonn apart upon entering the new planet, Tau Volantis.
There's a major The Thing vibe, possibly due to Volantis' snowy setting but a bit more due to the Necromorphs' fun new feature of spawning more tentacles if you shoot them in half. Plus there's the added bonus of reliving the Lost Planet franchise with the all-new larger Necromorphs that saw what the Akrid could do and thought, "Hey, I can be just as creepy looking AND still have weird stuff inside my body!"
Thanks EA, for letting us be a bit more creeped out by the creepy tentacle creatures. Dead Space 3 comes out next year.
