Warner Bros has today announced Mortal Kombat X for mobile devices, bringing the upcoming brutal brawler to iOS and Android devices.
Trine 3: The Artifacts Of Power Announced With Beautiful Gameplay Trailer
The main title still has not yet launched, but the mobile version will be quite different. The game is a free-to-play fighting and card-battling hybrid, not something you usually associate with the gratuitously violent franchise. It will be available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android devices this April.
"NetherRealm Studios has created a Mortal Kombat X mobile experience that allows more players than ever before to play this over-the-top fighting game through their ever-present smartphones, tablets or other devices," said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios. "What's more, we've expanded the unique cross-connectivity feature that links the mobile and console versions of Mortal Kombat X, delivering unique rewards to all players for simply playing the mobile game."
Far Cry 4 Yeti DLC Is Coming On March 10
According to the developers, Mortal Kombat X for mobile will include a "hybrid of fighting, card collecting, multiplayer team combat and more", with many of the series' iconic characters making appearances. Fatalities, of course, will be part of the package.
The console and PC versions are due out April 14, and owning those will win you bonus content in the mobile edition and vice versa. These can be attained by signing up for a WB Play account and completing tasks and achievements in each version. Check out the trailer for the mobile title below.
