We all have strong opinions about the modern state of gaming. "It's free to play, but it's not pay to win." Has become a punching bag line used by developers the world over; DRM is stifling community creativity and microtransactions are ruining literally everything. We've all thought this, but only KING Art and Nordic Games have had the chutzpah to put it into a musical number.
So Many Improvements Are Coming To World Of Warcraft Next Week
The launch trailer for The Book Of Unwritten Tales 2 is a simple little ditty about all the little nuisances we've grown to accept over the years - if only because they are so constantly rammed down our throats. Unwritten Tales 2 promises none of the things it sings about: no microtransactions, no DRM, no pay-to-win, no 'always online'. You just buy the game, and it is yours, even if your internet is out.
Such a quaint notion, one that seems so outdated.
Kirby Leads The Way With This Week's Nintendo eShop Update
The Book Of Unwritten Tales 2 is a charming point and click & puzzle adventure game that was successfully funded via Kickstarter back in March of 2014 (with nearly 300% of its target goal reached). It is a direct sequel to the original (also available via Steam) and when finished, will feature an additional 20 hours of gameplay, multiple characters and "The trademark BoUT-humor, lovingly spoofing LotR, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Discworld, The Hobbit, WoW and more."
Sadly, I suppose the trailer could not take aim at Early Access games - which in certain cases is just another way of saying 'work in progress' or at the various Kickstarted titles that have sunk, failed or never materialized over the years.
But it's a start, and besides, that ogre is totally eyeing that bar wench's...ample assets.
