Man Seeks New Q*Bert Record

Ed Heemskerk is more than just a man with a lot of free time, he's the man who set the Q*Bert record for a marathon game, playing for 68 and a half hours.

But now he has a dream. A simple dream. An achievable dream. He wants to play Q*Bert for 100 hours straight. His quest began at 8AM Friday morning, and if you want to see a man fight against a multi-colored pyramid and his own bladder, you can watch his live webcast of it here.

Just bring something snack on, because at this rate, he'll be playing until the early hours of Monday morning to achieve his goal.

Originally released in arcades in 1982, Q*bert has players control the titular character, hopping to different cubes on an isometric pyramid to change their color. Once all colors are that of the target color, the player can go to the next level. One of the most merchandised games of the 80's, Q*bert's had a bit of a resurgance as late, making appearances in everything from Family Guy to the upcoming Wreck it Ralph.
