Worlds Adrift, The New Open World Title From Bossa Studios, Looks Breathtaking In Latest Dev Video

Drift Along In The New Video For Bossa Studio's Next Game, Worlds Adrift

Bossa Studios - the guys behind the brilliant Surgeon Simulator and the absurdist I Am Bread (the best of the long line of anthropomorphic, ambulatory starch sims) are rightly considered the comedians of the world. But hey, even the late Robin Williams won some awards for his dramatic roles, and Bossa looks to do the same with Worlds Adrift.

Blizzard Levels The Ban Hammer Against Hearthstone Botters Once Again

The studio just released a new, brief look at their upcoming open world survival title. The game hopes to create a more physics-based multiplayer environment, with a heavy emphasis on "environment".

When the game was announced back in December, Bossa employee Henrique said, "Think about it: from deathmatch arenas to MMORPGs, you don't really play with physics. There's no throwing a player against another to have both falling to the ground; no chopping down a tree to squash a passing-by creature; no having vehicles crash into parts that fly away and hit everyone around. No crumbling buildings with dangerous debris, no explosions throwing people in different directions... These kind of things don't exist on multiplayer games, your sword barely grazes your enemies when rampaging through a dungeon with friends."

Wizards Of The Coast Announces New Magic Core Set, Magic: Origins

The latest update shows off a bit more of the world. The colors are rich and flat, eschewing the realism of modern games and instead aiming for a bright, illustrated sandbox to run around in. The Day/Night cycle will give players a very different feeling in the exact same area, and even the warm light of the fire does not seem that comforting against the looming darkness.

Honestly, it reminded me of an illustrated Prince of Persia or Uncharted, with our hero running and jumping, gliding down rope and swings.

The video also shows off the character's multi-tool, which lets you interact with the world, either by harvesting, cutting and we could imagine, attacking. Check out the Worlds Adrift video below. We'll bring you more information as it is made available.
