Sierra adventure game authors Mark Crowe and Scott Murphy teamed up again to create "Two Guys from Andromeda" LLC--a new studio dedicated to returning a sense of wonder, sci-fi adventure and some laughs to gaming. SpaceVenture is the working title of their first fan-funded project and newly released artwork definitely brings attention to the game's adventurous nature.
SpaceVenture will feature the same style of sci-fi comedy, wonder and excellence that fans have come to expect from a Two Guys Adventure. It's one that Classic Adventure Gamers will appreciate. It combines interplanetary exploration, puzzle-solving, space travel, and even some pop culture satire and humor.
In an interview with Adventure Gamers , Crowe said, "We definitely want to poke fun at some of the popular action games through the years like Wing Commander and even Halo. We feel there's a lot of humor to be mined from them, and we have the technology to poke fun at that whole space combat genre easily, so we see an opportunity there. Also, the sense of traveling to new worlds has always been a big part of the Space Questuniverse, so we definitely want to have the sense that you have your own spaceship, and can go anywhere you want. But this is not an action-adventure, it is an adventure game at its core."
Some key game aspects are as followed:
~ Switchable Rolls - play as Ace Hardway & Rooter ,his K9 robo-mutt and in some parts of the game as Ace's imaginary video game hero Cluck Y'Egger!
~ Hilarious Death Sequences - rather than being a punishment for failure, you'll actually be rewarded for finding all the unusual and hilarious ways to die - earning extra points and achievements - without having to "save/restore" your progress. Dying will be FUN... promise!
~ Navigate your own ship through the SpaceVenture galaxy. Explore a non-linear universe and even engage in hilarious dogfight sequences* that poke fun at the space combat genre. *optional
