The guys behind Better Call Saul, the upcoming Breaking Bad spin-off series that follows everyone's favorite crooked (yet highly competent) lawyer Saul Goodman, have released a new online comic ahead of the show's Sunday premiere.

The best part, it's free! Reminiscent of a similar comic that was released in advance of Breaking Bad's final season, the new BCS story that brings readers back to the early days of Walter White's reign, when Badger cuts a deal to give over Heisenberg. Originally told from the perspective of Walt, Jesse and Badger, we get a glimpse at how Saul and Mike approached the situation, bantering, cajoling and second-guessing this 'Heisenberg' character.
Fans should be able to orient themselves to the background action, but even newcomers can enjoy the snark and writing on display. Not that there are newcomers, right?

"Not that this is something you must read to get Better Call Saul, but having those extra layers out there seems really appropriate for this particular type of storytelling and this type of show," McKean said. "And we've seen the evidence in terms of usage [of the comics in the past] that there's a sizable chunk of people who want to read about this world in this form."
Ever wonder how Saul figured out who Walt was so quickly? You can follow Mike along on his investigation. It's short, sweet and to the point. Much like Mike himself.
"That episode is complete as it is but there was an opportunity there ... to unpack something from that episode that directly leads us into Better Call Saul," Mac McKean, senior vice president of digital media and content for AMC, said.
Better Call Saul premieres February 8 and 9 on AMC at 10 p.m. EST. Read the comic, titled Client Development, HERE.
