iPhone 5 Release Date Rumors: Bigger Screen a Better Option for Camera

More rumors, more "leaks." The newest leak comes from KGI Research. KGI Analyst Mingchi Kuo let slip some "essential adjustments" for the next iPhone. What kind of adjustments? An HD front-facing shooter, instead of the VGA currently sported by the iPhone 4S.

Given this switch, a 4 inch display would make for a better choice, or so says an analyst's report from Apple Insider.

Analyst Kuo says the camera will be moved to the middle of the phone (top-middle), and that a "flip chip" solution will be used. Improvements are expected to the rear phone as well, which Kuo believes are on the way, saying the aperture range could be improved and the camera will be thinner. Kuo also says that the next gen phone will have the "most challenging iPhone design yet."

KGI's chart of rear cameras is shown above.

Remember that none of this information is confirmed, and that more "leaks" are to be expected as the clock ticks down to Apple's WWDC, where hopefully we'll hear something legitimate, June 11...
