With the release of the recent GOG.com Star Wars collections, there's no better time to once again take to the landspeeders and cruise around Hoth. The F2P tower attack game, Star Wars: Galactic Defense is getting its first major event, Attack on Echo Base.
We Don't Need Any Heroes For These Two Star Victories In Clash Of Clans
The recreation of the iconic opening battle from The Empire Strikes Back is available for a limited time, today through Monday, February 2. "Each day, players will compete against their friends in the all-new challenge mode to rank up for the first time ever in the leaderboards events and earn increased experience, in-game currency and rewards." Special champions from both Imperial and Rebel factions will be made available in the recruitment pod to help turn the tide of battle.
One would imagine that the Battle of Endor (sorry, "the forest moon of Endor") will be included as a later limited time only event. Personally, I'd like to see the Battle of Tanaab, the attack that somehow propelled Lando to general in Jedi. Chances are we'll see several of the Prequel trilogy ground battles, such as the Battle for Naboo, the Geonosis and we can hope an all out war on Coruscant.

None of which changes the fact that Galactic Defense is a somewhat infuriating game, and this is coming from an avowed fan of the tower defense genre. Though even I can admit this event sounds intriguing because it's Star Wars and no matter how they try to ruin it, it will always have a special place in my heart.
You can download the free event for both iOS, Android and Amazon platforms today!
