Over this past weekend, the guys from Super Evil Megacorp (which is still the best company name) revealed a new character for their iOS based MOBA, Vainglory.
The Sprinting King! What Is It? And How Does It Work In Clash Of Clans?
Going by the name of Ardan, a new type of characters that is similar to how Warriors work in World of Warcraft. To put it in other words: Vengeance, thy name is Ardan.
Instead of the traditional energy meter that the current heroes use, Ardan will have a Vengeance meter which builds up as he takes damage, this is how he powers all of his impressive array of abilities and it means that he can use them any time he wants - as long as they're on cooldown. And as long as he's in the thick of it.
This Week's Video Game Releases Are Very...Grim. Fandango, That Is.
The team showed off a in-development build of the character and noted that he can be played several different ways, perhaps more similar to a Paladin. He possesses a passive heal ability and can be a back-up Protector for the group, hanging out and not standing at the front. However, if you want to toss him up against the turrets, your team-mates would greatly appreciate Ardan's tanking abilities. He's a powerhouse.
He might even be too powerful. Super Evil Megacorp is playtesting him now and making sure he does not damage the balance in Vainglory. Balance is key to these games. Characters are supposed to play differently, not necessarily be stronger or weaker than the others. That's where the skill comes in, and it's also why players scream bloody murder when their favorite character is updated and patched.
No release date has been set for the character, however you can read up on his backstory at the official Vainglory site. Check out one intrepid Youtuber's look into the new character below.
