Xoom Corporation today announced a partnership with Skype to offer Skype Credits to new Xoom customers. Customers who send their first money transfer with Xoom will be eligible to receive a $50 Skype Credit. With Skype Credit, customers can place international calls to mobiles and landlines in 170 countries, send text messages to their friends and families, get online at over a million affiliated Wi-Fi hotspots paying by the minute, set up free Skype To Go numbers to make calls from any phone or try Skype Premium for group video calling and screen sharing.
Alejandro Arnaiz, Sr. Manager of Market Development for Skype said, "Our partnership with Xoom will deliver a very compelling solution to our US users with connections in other countries. They will now be able to send money online from any computer or their mobile phone with Xoom and be in touch with their family and friends abroad over Skype, whether via audio, video or chat, at home or on their smartphones."
With this partnership, Xoom will offer a $50 Skype Credit to customers who send their first Xoom money transfer. Customers will receive a unique voucher code they can redeem for a $50 Skype Credit for landline and mobile calls, or text messages.

"We also understand they have a need to stay in touch with friends and families abroad.
