While Connor and Assassin’s Creed 3 was one of the most anticipated games of E3, Ubisoft introduced another addition to the storied legacy of Altair and his assassins with Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation for the PS Vita. Featured in the game will be the first female lead in the franchise, Aveline de Grandpre, who’ll give some Creole flavor to the Assassins.
Her story is set to take place in New Orleans roughly around the time of the Louisiana Rebellion, shortly before Connor is said to join the Assassins. Nothing’s confirmed, but it seems possible that their paths will cross.
With a new character of the past, we will also see a new character in present day. Whereas we saw Desmond living through the lives of Ezio and Altair, we’ll see a new character live through Aveline’s former life. She also abandons the traditional Assassin hood in favor of a more fashionable tri corner hat.
Aveline sports dual pistols, a sugar cane machete, blowpipe, and the trademark hidden assassin’s blade, all of which you can check for yourself below.
Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation will come out alongside Assassin’s Creed 3, this fall, October 30th. Liberation will also be available as part of a PS Vita bundle with a 4G memory card and a brand new white Vita.
