Streaming startup Gaming Live is heading into beta, and the team is openly declaring war on Twitch.

The European company announced that its service will be leaving alpha on February 1, 2015, which will officially mark the beginning of the beta. Going into a competitive space is a difficult task, but Gaming Live has openly stated its intention to go after Twitch's market share.
"The last six months gave us a lot," said Chief Operating Officer Krystian Berg, "thanks to the feedback from our awesome viewers and content creators we were able to take a proper direction in our development process and I truly believe that we finally have something that will satisfy gamers from all around the world - it is a completely re-designed gaming experience."

"Even though we know how big community around Twitch is, what kind of budgets they are operating with and how they have progressed over the last years, we know that startups are there to prove they can do something better. Rivalry is good, it brings better products to market. In the long-term, we want to focus on giving the content creators tools to create the best and most engaging content and allow them build audiences around their activities more effectively, as a lot of them currently struggles on over-saturated platforms."
More power to them, right? Twitch is extremely popular, has many big name partners, and is generally well-liked by users, but competition is always good. Gaming Live boasts free 480p transcoding, and accepts live streams in 2K with no bitrate or framerate limitations. The product will re-launch with mobile apps for iOS and Android a few weeks in, and Smart TV compatibility on day one.
