Another week, another game set within the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Games Workshop will not rest until their flagship series is being played by every man, woman and child in the world. The next in their long war of attrition is The Horus Heresy: Drop Assault, a new free-to-play title for mobile platforms.
World Of Tanks Double XP Weekend Adds New Personal Missions
Set within the defining moment of the long and very involved Warhammer world, at the period of the first civil war that essentially laid the groundwork for all future strife. This is the first such game to be made set within the Horus Heresy period.
The game is a base defense/attack title similar to Clash of Clans mixed with Boom Beach - a template so ubiquitous and copied that it's a wonder no Warhammer game had been molded in these shapes before. Choosing either the side of the Imperium or the rebels led by Horus (the emperor's son), players can build and customize bases, muster armies (clans?), and clash with their enemies' strongholds. An additional Skirmish mode is also available so you can team up with your friends to take on the enemy.

"We're extremely happy to be able to launch Drop Assault worldwide on iOS!" said Noah Decter-Jackson, CEO of Complex Games Inc., on the game's launch, "The game has been undergoing extensive live-testing and tweaking over the past few months, and it's finally in a state where we're ready to go live and unleash it on all the fans!"
And if this doesn't seem like your bag, you can check out Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, a new Warhammer title from Tinadlos Interactive. Soon every game will be Warhammer!
Horus Heresy: Drop Assault is currently available for iOS only. An Android version is in the works. Watch the trailer below.
