The Walking Dead has cast another character to play a large role in the upcoming half season. The inclusion of this new character could be a major hint at the direction of the coming half season's plot.
Key Figures Mysteriously Missing From New Trailer, Hints At Coming Deaths?
As hinted before, a character who may be Aaron from the comics was to be added to the lineup of The Walking Dead for the second half of season five. TV Line has reported that the role may have been filled by Ross Marquand.
If this turns out to be true, then it's a major hint as to what's next for the group, Aaron is a huge part of the comics once he shows up. His inclusion solidifies that the group will be heading to the Alexandria Safe Zone as he is a recruiter for them.
Boys Know More Than Girls In New Season Of Orphan Black
He also becomes one of Rick's close friends and is central to much of the plot that happens from the point of his meeting in the comics.
Also, he is pretty heavily involved in the Negan storyline. His inclusion to the cast could indicate that the next villain will in fact be Negan. Coupled with the possible hidden spoiler in the recent promo art, this is becoming more and more likely.
There's no determination on how long it will take to get to the safe zone however so it is possible that although the show is following the comics more closely now, they detour and deal with the Morgan and the Whisperers first.
The Walking Dead returns to AMC February 8.
