During today's Nintendo Direct, the company announced that the next Mario vs Donkey Kong title will be their first to offer cross-buy functionality on Wii U and 3DS.
This means that if you purchase it on either platform, you get a code to download the other for free. This has been done before, but rarely, with the first title to offer this deal being the incredible Squids Odyssey.
Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Tipping Stars will be the first Nintendo game to use this, however.
The game will play much the same as the classic (and underrated!) Mario vs Donkey Kong titles. Tipping Stars will take advantage of the touch screen on the GamePad for the Wii U version and will offer more than 80 puzzles, more of which can be created via the level-creation mode. but now player-created levels can be shared with others through the Miiverse
Players can earn stars that will unlock new tools used for level creation, or use those stars to tip players online who are creating great levels.
Mario Vs. Donkey Kong Tipping Stars will release sometime later this year.
