While the game is eminently more playable than it was at launch, Halo: The Master Chief Collection still has a lot to improve on. Fortunately, another update is set to hit this week.

There's a good core game underneath the need for UI fixes, settings changes, and playlist tweaks, and 343 is addressing these issues slowly. The new patch will add Halo 4 and Team Hardcore playlists alongside updates to the UI and a "variety of other areas".
We'll have to wait for the official patch notes to know more, but it sounds like the troubled title will continue to grow and become more streamlined. At launch the Team Hardcore playlist will include Halo 2 Classic variants only, with Halo 3 maps and gametypes to be added in the future. Not part of this update, but planned down the line, are other fan favorite playlists such as Team Snipers, Team Doubles, objective-only gametypes, and more.

Further updates will continue to improve matchmaking, parties, and other community concerns, according to 343. The developers have undoubtedly worked on the game quite a bit since launch and have updated in many features and fixes, so it's unfortunate that it still has a long way to go. All of this having been included from launch as expected would have made for a tremendous game, but as it stands, players are still frustrated and disappointed with the experience--hopefully those updates come quickly and work well.
