Videogame publisher 505 Games and developer Behavior Interactive announced that Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise will be launched this year, for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Naughty Bear, the first installment, was released in June of 2010 and players were introduced to a shabby teddy bear named Naughty Bear. He is shabby in appearance and very mischievous carrying weapons like a knife or bat. Although the creative AI was praised, Naughty Bear was met with many negative reviews. IGN scored the game 3/10 on Xbox 360 and 2.5/10 on Playstation, describing it as "Awful."
Hyper Magazine was one of the few to praise the game, giving it an 8 out of 10.
Players who had a bad experience with Naughty Bear, are left to simply wait and see what's in store for its sequel.
"...we really wanted to push the limits and give players a lot more freedom to be as naughty as they can and help Naughty Bear get revenge on the other bears who have been so mean to him" stated Victoria Reeve, Senior Global Brand Manager of 505 Games, in a press release. "With the first Naughty Bear game audiences responded well to the juxtaposition of cuddly innocence, with dark humor and over the top violence. We're really looking forward to seeing what they make of all the great new features we've packed into Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise."
David Osborne, Executive Creative Director at Behaviour Interactive said, "Naughty Bear really struck a chord with gamers looking for something more than the same old gameplay; With Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise, we're turning the naughty dial all the way up to 11!"
There has been no official date released for "Naughty Bear: Panic in Paradise" yet.
