Along with this news they're released the first of three developer diaries. This first dev diary is called 'A New Beginning' and it seeks to introduce you to the story and characters, as well as the theme of the game.
As we found out at the recent New York Comic Con (read our full preview here) this is a coming of age tale, an adventure game that deals with teenage kids and all the problems they face- social issues, alcoholism, violence.
Minecraft: Story Mode Announced: New Telltale Episodic Series Features New Characters
During the diary the developers of the game talk about how they found themselves wanting to create games that are beyond the mainstream, and this certainly looks the part. It's quieter, character-based, and like Telltale Games' recent titles, your choices impact the path the story will take. Decisions create consequences that will reverberate throughout all of the subsequent episodes.
The first episode of Life is Strange is set for release on January 30 for PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. The first episode costs $4.99 and there will be five in total- a season pass is also available for $19.99.
