Netflix is constantly adding things to its lineup and expanding its original programming, trying to feature a wide variety for all tastes and types. As the year begins the company has released a list of release dates for this year's slate.
Marvel's Daredevil Gets Release Date and Spiffy New Poster
This year will see 10 original series coming to the service, according to USA Today. Old favorites House of Cards and Orange is the New Black will both be returning. House of Cards' third season will premiere on February 27 while Orange is the New Black is just listed as summer. The Fall is also returning for its sophomore season on January 16.
New shows include Bloodline with Sam Shepard and Sissy Spacek, which follows the family drama of a Florida innkeeper. It premieres on March 20.
House Of Cards Could Be Entering Its Last Season, Frank Underwood May Be In His Final Days
Also coming is the first of the Marvel show series, kicking off with Marvel's Daredevil on April 10. The new show will follow Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) as the blind superhero. After this run, Netflix will also see Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage and then finally, Defenders, which combines all the heroes as a single team. These shows will be released at rough yearly intervals.
Later this year Sense8 will hit, a new show from the Wachowski Siblings, the folks that gave the world The Matrix. In the new series, eight people from different cities all have the same "violent vision". We'll have to wait until it hits to find out what it all means.
Finally we have Narcos, a drama about "cocaine cartels and the lawmen who try to stop them", which will hit later this year.
It's clear that Netflix's focus on original programming is paying off for the company. What are you most looking forward to?
