The focus may be on the Halo 5: Guardians Beta right now, but both 343 and fans alike have not forgotten the issues The Master Chief Collection is still facing.
Halo 5 Guardians Beta Update Coming Friday, Vote For Which Forge Map You Want Added Now
The developers have outlined general plans for delivery of the next updates, which will come this week and next. The second is unfortunately the more significant of the two, so players will have to wait until next week for the connectivity and UI problems to improve.
This week's update will simply be adding achievements for both Halo 4 Spartan Ops and general online multiplayer. This patch will be available tomorrow, January 8. As for the next update, some actual gameplay and interface issues will be addressed.

"As we had mentioned before the holidays, the team continues to work on upcoming Halo: The Master Chief Collection updates to improve the existing experience and add new content. We've continued this work through the holidays, and have multiple content updates in the works. Our next content update, which will address UI and a variety of other areas, is currently on track for delivery next week. We will provide additional info regarding the exact ETA and final details of the upcoming content update once the certification process is completed."
The developers go on to ensure fans that improving the experience remains their top priority, and while the game is in much better shape than it was at launch, issues certainly remain. Joining and quitting groups or lobbies is a hassle, freezes or hangups still occur, and uneven teams before games start (you can only do so much about people quitting, to be fair) are too common. The majority of playlists are still unranked, and the playlists and map selection could use tweaking in general. The game itself remains a lot of fun when it works--hopefully 343 can add or fix the necessary content in short order.
