The Dreamcast was the last great console from Sega, ceasing production early last decade because we’re all bad people for not buying it. But there are a few who still carry the fire and every now and then, we are treated to an all new title for the Dreamcast. And there is much rejoicing.
Fan Made Super Mario 64 Remake Gets New Update Video
Alice’s Mom’s Rescue, an albeit poorly titled game, will be coming to the Dreamcast this March! The region-free platforming title is currently available for pre-order in both standard and limited edition copies. Limited is no joke, either, as they are printing only 300 units worldwide. The limited edition comes with the game, manual and the original soundtrack for 42,95 Euros.
The game is based partly on the Lewis Carrol story, because repurposing fairy tales are all the rage nowadays. When a giant raven swoops in and snatches up her mother, it’s up to Alice to run and jump across 25 different platforming levels. Players can change their size with the magic mushrooms whilst avoiding the peculiar tricks, traps and creatures of this fantastic world in a desperate rescue mission.
Kickstart This! Kriophobia - Putting The Horror Back In 'Survival Horror'
Alice is being released by Hucast, whom you may remember as having released the 'shmup Ghost Blade back in 2014. Hucast is the videogame equivalent of those Japanese soldiers who refused to believe World War II ended - none of us will ever be as devoted to a thing as they are.
The game is also available for Android and Windows, if you feel like using "modern" systems.
So dust off that old Dreamcast, folks. It’s been waiting so long for you to return, but return we all must.
