Game of Thrones isn't coming back unti the Spring, but HBO is releasing a special titled Game of Thrones: A Day in the Life to air this Winter.
Stannis Baratheon Will See Story Changes In Upcoming Season Of GoT
This isn't the first time the company has released a special before the new season, ComicBook.com points out. They also did the same thing for Season four with a special titled Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing. HBO: Fan of long titles.
Last year's special included behind the scenes footage of the coming season, cast interviews and, of course, footage for the upcoming season.
Pirates Love Game of Thrones, Most Pirated Show Third Year Running
The channel will probably follow the same formula. We should be seeing a full-fledged trailer shortly after the premiere of the show.
Of course, unlike last year, HBO has been releasing teasers through the website, Three Eyed Raven. These short missives can only be viewed once and only on mobile devices. The ten second teasers provide brief glimpses of what's to come, mimicking the Greensight from the show.
Because they've already deviated with the website and trailers, there's really no telling what the channel will do to keep fans on their toes with the upcoming season's trailers.
We've also had a brief look at the coming season tucked inside of HBO's year-end wrap up. Production has been fairly tight lipped about what is to come, although of course the books offer a clue.
Game of Thrones: A Day in the Life will premiere on February 8, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
